Wildflower Turf

The wildflower specialist endorsed by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

The Hewetson-Brown family have been farming in Hampshire for three generations and in 1982 set up Coronet Turf to diversify into turf production pioneering a soil-less growing system which has transformed the concept of turf growing.

In 2003 managing partner James Hewetson-Brown started Wildflower Turf, a subsidiary enterprise, and developed the growing of Wildflower Turf to meet the demand for readymade wildflower meadows without the establishment problems associated with traditional seeding methods. Wildflower Turf has continued to expand successfully as a business over the years, fine tuning its seed mixes and techniques to produce a unique and high quality product.

Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants

1988 was the year that Rosy Hardy started growing plants, after having been to a car boot sale in Ascot whilst clearing out the garage.

She saw plants available for sale and came home and dug up the garden. From such small beginnings a very successful nursery was born.

They have been incredibly lucky at Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, moving from a back garden to an amazing walled garden at Laverstoke Park, where they flourished, and finally to their purpose built site in Freefolk which they are happy to call home. During this time Rosy always insisted they grow our plants in a more traditional manner, making sure they are tough and resilient.
